✨ New Year, New Intentions✨

As we step into the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect and set intentions—not just for ourselves, but for our families, especially our ADHD kiddos. I know firsthand how challenging and overwhelming it can be. Some days feel like a never-ending struggle, and it can be hard to remember how far we’ve come.

For me, parenting ADHD has been a journey of ups and downs. There are moments when I feel like I’m failing, when it feels like I can’t keep up with the demands of daily life. And I’m sure many of you can relate to that feeling—when it seems like the world is moving at one pace, but we’re trying to keep up at another.

But here’s the truth: despite the challenges, we are still thriving. There are moments of brilliance, growth, and joy in the midst of the chaos. And those moments are worth holding onto.

As parents of children with ADHD, we are resilient. We show up every day, even when it’s hard, even when it feels like we’re not making progress. But we are. Every small victory counts. 💪

So, as we enter 2024, here are a few intentions I’m setting for myself and my family this year:

1. Practice Patience – With my son, with myself, and with the process. ADHD parenting isn’t linear, and progress takes time.

2. Embrace Flexibility – Some days will go according to plan, and others will go completely off-track. I’m going to be kind to myself and adapt as needed.

3. Prioritize Self-Care – I can’t pour from an empty cup. I will take time for myself, whether that’s through small breaks, hobbies, or just taking a deep breath.

4. Celebrate Progress, Big & Small – Even when the world feels like it’s moving in fast-forward, I’ll remember to acknowledge every milestone—no matter how tiny it might seem.

5. Stay Connected – I will continue to surround myself with a support system, whether that’s family, friends, or fellow ADHD parents. We thrive when we uplift each other.

Parenting a child with ADHD is not easy, but it’s so worth it. If you’re reading this and feeling like you’re barely holding it together, please know that you’re not alone. We’re all in this together—and together, we thrive. 💖

Here’s to a new year full of growth, love, and embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with raising a child with ADHD.
